Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a sport that can be practised at different levels. Climbing cliffs, rocks, climbing walls, buildings, etc. can allow you to meet physical challenges or overcome fears when practised safely.
When first beginning to climb it is of utmost importance that you do so with an experienced instructor that has all the necessary equipment and inspires your trust. They should first familiarise you the safety rules and procedures and show you the equipment and demonstrate its use.

Different Modes of Climbing

Climbing was originally divided into the following:
Exterior climbing (using holds)
Interior climbing (using cracks and chimneys)
Artificial climbing (using different devices such as rope ladders to ascend places that are considered impossible to climb. This method is very controversial and is not accepted as climbing by some.)

Now the sport has been further divided into the following:
Free climbing or solo climbing (without the use of any gear. This is not recommended because no safety equipment whatsoever is used.)
Urban climbing
Bouldering (climbing without rope or harness at a height from which you can jump to the ground.)
Artificial wall climbing (climbing artificial walls that simulate rock.)
Top rope (using a rope anchored at the top. The height of the climb does not exceed 20m , which allows the climber to climb the same route various times. It is ideal for improving technique and learning to climb.)
